Mohammed Bin Rashid Library Marks the Month of Reading With Diverse Cultural Activities

Dubai, UAE, 13 March 2026: In line with the Month of Reading and the Year of Family, the Mohammed bin Rashid Library is hosting a diverse programme of cultural and educational events throughout March to promote reading, creativity, and community engagement. The programme features literary gatherings, theatre performances, workshops, and family-oriented activities designed to enrich visitors’ experiences and deepen appreciation for culture and knowledge.

To encourage reading as a daily habit, the Library is launching the ‘Let’s Read Together’ initiative, an extension of the ‘A World Reads’ initiative. Books are being distributed to visitors throughout the month. The initiative aims to inspire people of all ages to adopt reading as a sustainable habit and strengthen intellectual engagement across the community.

In collaboration with Empty Basket, the Library is also organising Al Khor Ramadan Nights, a week-long programme of family-friendly cultural activities. The programme includes a Ramadan market, children’s workshops, poetry readings, artistic evenings, and sessions highlighting family values.

As part of its efforts to support reading communities, the Library is organising a reading initiative under the theme ‘Towards a Reading Society’. The initiative brings together various clubs and societies to encourage dialogue around reading and knowledge.

To nurture a love for the Arabic language among younger audiences, the Library will present a theatrical performance for school students titled ‘Letters on a Mission’, in collaboration with Sandooq Al Watan and Dubai National Theatre. The play blends education and entertainment while introducing students to the beauty and significance of the Arabic language.

Additionally, the Library will host a session as part of the Paper and Pen initiative, where young writers will meet with the public to discuss the role of reading in daily life and share their personal journeys in developing writing and reading habits.

In the final week of March, the Library will organise a financial literacy session titled ‘Money Doesn’t Have to Be Complicated’. The session will offer practical guidance on managing income, expenses, and personal budgets to help participants make confident financial decisions.

The programme will conclude with an educational session titled ‘The Child Behind the Behaviour’. The session will explore how children’s behaviours may reflect underlying challenges and pressures, while providing practical tools for parents and educators to support children’s emotional and social wellbeing.

Through these initiatives, the Mohammed bin Rashid Library reaffirms its commitment to promoting reading, culture, and knowledge while strengthening family and community values. This further enhances its role as a leading cultural and educational landmark in Dubai.

Families and visitors from the UAE and abroad can attend these events free of charge by registering through the Library’s official website and social media platforms.
