Saudi Development Program for Yemen Participates in 2026 IsDB Group Annual Meetings in Baku

Baku, June 18, 2026, SPA -- A delegation from the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) participated in the 2026 Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group Annual Meetings, held under the theme “Regional Integration for Sustainable Prosperity” in Baku, Azerbaijan, from June 16 to 19, 2026.

The event brings together high-level decision-makers from all 57 member countries of the IsDB Group and its partners worldwide.

The SDRPY’s participation showcases its development experience in Yemen, as well as the projects and sustainable development initiatives it has implemented. These efforts have supported essential services, improved daily life, and enhanced infrastructure,in turn supporting development, stability, and economic recovery in Yemen.

The SDRPY delegation, led by Assistant to SDRPY’s General Supervisor for Institutional Relations and Head of the Communications and International Cooperation Sector Abdullah bin Kadasa, participated in several accompanying sessions and held a number of bilateral meetings with officials and international experts.

During one of the sessions, the assistant to SDRPY’s general supervisor noted that simultaneous investment in interconnected sectors such as energy, water, health, education, and transport delivers greater impact than standalone projects, as development is an integrated system rather than a set of independent projects.

He stated that the SDRPY has implemented more than 287 development projects and initiatives since its establishment in 2018, covering key sectors, including education, health, energy, water, and transport, as well as agriculture, fisheries, development programs, and support for building and strengthening the capacities of the Yemeni government.

The participation of SDRPY is part of its ongoing efforts to transfer development expertise, exchange knowledge with international partners, and contribute to developing effective solutions to address development challenges and promote sustainable development in Yemen.
