Makkah, March 10, 2026, SPA -- The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has advised visitors to the Grand Mosque to follow the approved Tawaf guidelines, helping maintain smooth flow in the Mataf and enabling Umrah performers to complete their rituals with ease and calm. The ministry clarified that the ground floor of the Mataf has been designated exclusively for Umrah performers, facilitating smooth Tawaf and enabling worshippers to perform their rituals comfortably. Worshippers are urged to adhere to the designated Tawaf pathways, though Tawaf is also available on the upper floors according to capacity limits and approved operational arrangements. Key guidance to help maintain the flow includes starting Tawaf near the Black Stone, moving gently along the designated path, and avoiding walking against the flow or obstructing other Umrah performers. Following these instructions ensures Umrah performers’ safety and contributes to orderly movement within the Mataf. The ministry also commended the ongoing efforts of the General Authority for the Care of the Two Holy Mosques to serve visitors to the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque. Among these services is the ability to check crowd density in the Mataf and the Sa’i areas. The ministry encouraged Grand Mosque visitors to review crowd conditions before performing Umrah and select the appropriate floor for Tawaf and Sa’i via this link: https://alharamain.gov.sa/public/?module=module_794625. Additionally, visitors can refer to the “Umrah and Visit Guide”, which outlines Tawaf instructions and other operational guidelines as part of a comprehensive awareness system designed to make the rituals easier and more tranquil: https://haj.gov.sa/en/Awareness-Center/Awareness-Guides/Umrah-and-Visit-Guide.
