GCA President Attends Closing Ceremony of Second Innovation in Accounting Forum for Students

Riyadh, January 19, 2026, SPA -- President of the General Court of Audit (GCA) Dr. Hussam Alangari attended on Sunday evening the closing ceremony of the second edition of the Innovation in Accounting Forum (IAF 2025) for Students, organized by the Saudi Center for Financial and Performance Auditing (SCFPA) at the GCA. It ran from December 15, 2025, to January 18, 2026, to support and empower national talent in accounting and auditing.

The second edition featured two main tracks—Knowledge Development and Innovative Challenges—and included six specialized sub-tracks: Studies, Solutions, Data, Empowerment, Simulation, and Career Development. Approximately 1,600 male and female accounting students from 30 universities and educational institutions across Saudi Arabia participated.

The program comprised more than 45 interactive and applied activities, including workshops and knowledge sessions delivered by local and international mentors and experts in accounting, technology, artificial intelligence, and labor-market skills. In addition, participants engaged in practical exercises simulating real-world challenges, conducted under the supervision of specialists, to develop innovative practical solutions and propose regulatory and legislative recommendations.

During the closing ceremony, Vice President of Institutional Services at GCA and Director General of SCFPA Tariq Aljurayfani highlighted the forum’s role in celebrating scientific excellence and in investing in young national talent and energy to prepare promising leaders and develop competencies that will shape the future of the accounting profession in Saudi Arabia.

He also noted that this is achieved by nurturing these talents in national centers and laboratories, building educational portfolios for the winners in partnership with leading universities in Saudi Arabia and abroad, and providing educational opportunities on major digital platforms and with the largest international consulting firms and experts in the field.

The ceremony concluded with the honoring of winners in several tracks: the Solutions Track, where 29 teams competed to generate innovative and practical solutions to real-world accounting challenges; the Studies Track, in which 30 teams contributed to formulating innovative strategic legislative and policy solutions to address regulatory and legislative challenges related to the accounting profession; and the Data Track, with eight teams developing solutions based on managing and analyzing accounting data and building predictive models using modern technologies and artificial intelligence tools.

The IAF for Students is one of the key programs stemming from the National Talent Support Initiative launched by the SCFPA. It aims to prepare a qualified generation of accounting students in Saudi Arabia who will contribute to providing high-quality innovations in the field of accounting and bridge the gap between academic education and professional reality in accounting and auditing. This is achieved by connecting students with a select group of experts, speakers, and representatives from leading local and international companies specializing in the accounting and auditing profession.
