Abu Dhabi, UAE : (9th March, 2026) In a strong step toward advancing specialized hematology and transplant care across the region, Yas Clinic Khalifa City, in partnership with Abu Dhabi Stem Cells Center (ADSCC), successfully hosted a comprehensive two-day Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Preceptorship Program, bringing together leading experts and healthcare professionals for an immersive, hands-on learning experience. Held at Yas Clinic Khalifa City, the program welcomed 30 healthcare professionals for an intensive agenda designed to deepen clinical knowledge, strengthen multidisciplinary collaboration, and elevate standards in hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) and advanced therapies. More than a course, the preceptorship created a space for shared experience - where science met mentorship, and where clinicians came together with one purpose: improving patient outcomes. From donor selection and transplant fundamentals to pediatric and geriatric care, infectious complications, gene therapy, and long-term follow-up strategies, the program covered the full patient journey. Interactive workshops, case-based discussions, and panel sessions ensured that learning was practical, real, and directly applicable to daily clinical practice. The sessions were led by a distinguished faculty of consultants and specialists including Dr. Mohamed Abuhaleeqa, Dr. Inas El-Najjar, Dr. Nameer Abdul Raheem, Dr. Mansi Sachdev, Dr. David Dennison, and other experts in hematology, infectious disease, pharmacy, and transplant medicine, reflecting the depth and strength of expertise within both institutions. Speaking about the initiative, Dr. Maysoon Al Karam, the Chief Medical Officer from Yas Clinic shared: “Transplant medicine is not only about advanced technology, it’s about people, knowledge sharing, and preparing our teams to deliver the safest and most compassionate care. This preceptorship reflects our commitment to continuous learning and to building local expertise that directly benefits our patients and families.” Dr. Mohamed Abuhaleeqa, Consultant, Hematology & Bone Marrow Transplant / Chair of Academic Affairs added: “Partnerships like this are essential to advancing the future of stem cell and transplant therapies in the UAE. When we invest in education and collaboration, we strengthen the entire healthcare ecosystem.” Accredited for CME hours, the program was thoughtfully designed to strengthen clinical knowledge and empower healthcare teams with practical, real-world expertise. Throughout the sessions, participants explored evidence-based transplant practices, engaged in interactive clinical case discussions, and reinforced the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration in delivering comprehensive patient care. The program also highlighted emerging therapies, including gene therapy and advanced cellular treatments, while placing strong emphasis on long-term survivorship and improving quality of life beyond treatment.
By combining academic rigor with practical application, the preceptorship reinforces Yas Clinic Khalifa City and ADSCC’s shared mission: to develop regional excellence in complex, life-saving therapies while keeping patient-centered care at the heart of everything they do. As demand for advanced hematology and transplant services continues to grow, both organizations remain committed to hosting future educational initiatives that empower clinicians and elevate healthcare standards across the UAE and beyond.
