Madinah, May 12, 2026, SPA -- An integrated system of services for older people and persons with disabilities is being provided at the Prophet's Mosque and its surrounding facilities during the current Hajj season, to facilitate their movement and enable them to perform their worship and visits with ease and tranquility, as part of efforts to enhance the quality of services provided to visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque. The services include facilitating access and movement within the Prophet's Mosque by providing electric and manual wheelchairs and carts at designated locations, as well as equipping pathways, entrances, and elevators to ease the movement of beneficiaries within the mosque and its courtyards. Dedicated routes and suitable locations have also been allocated to accommodate the needs of older people and persons with disabilities while moving around and performing prayers. Field and guidance teams are also providing direct support to beneficiaries at multiple locations within the central area by assisting them in accessing prayer areas, facilities, and services, and by helping regulate movement during peak times to enhance safety and ensure a smooth flow. Moreover, digital services facilitate access via interactive maps available via QR codes at the gates of the courtyards of the Prophet's Mosque, in addition to other smart digital services. Support services include equipped restrooms and specially prepared facilities, along with guidance and orientation services in several languages, helping beneficiaries reach their destinations and access available services with ease. These efforts are integrated with transport, crowd management, healthcare, and emergency services in the central area to ensure a safe and accessible environment that accommodates the needs of older people and persons with disabilities, while enriching their experience during their stay at the Prophet’s Mosque and its surroundings throughout the Hajj season.
