King Salman Local Quran Competition Starts in Makkah

Makkah, January 9, 2026, SPA -- The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance launched the preliminary rounds of the 27th edition of the Local Competition for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Award for the Holy Quran Memorization, Recitation and Interpretation for male and female participants.

The competition is in its 27th edition, held in Makkah in 1447 AH.

The first day of the preliminary rounds saw strong student participation, reflecting high proficiency and fair competition.

The rounds were conducted with precise organization and comprehensive supervision, creating a positive, motivating environment for participants and underscoring the ministry’s commitment to providing a fair, encouraging, competitive atmosphere.

The preliminary rounds are being held across the Kingdom’s regions from Jumada Al Oula 25 to Rajab 25 under the supervision of the ministry’s branches and in accordance with strict regulations and standards that ensure integrity and transparency.

The final rounds of the competition will take place in Riyadh from Shaaban 24 to 29 to select the winners.
