Dubai Culture and Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children Welcome Families to 'A Season of Creativity'

Daily sessions from May to July support children in exploring different art forms

Dubai, UAE, May 4, 2026: Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has launched a 'Creative Workshops' programme, organised by Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children from May to July to identify emerging talent and give children the space to explore different art forms. The initiative aligns with the Authority's commitment to make culture accessible to all and reinforce Dubai's position as a global hub for the creative economy.

Held under the theme 'A Season of Creativity,' the programme invites families to take part in interactive sessions across artistic disciplines, offering an integrated learning experience that spans design, abstract art, and other fields.

The May agenda covers a wide range of workshops. 'Iqraa Story Writing' focuses on creative writing in Arabic,' and Doll Making' guides children through the craft of making handmade dolls that reflect their imagination. Participants can also join 'Flower Design,' organised in collaboration with Garden Tulip Flowers, for a hands-on experience in floral arrangement.

The agenda features 'Introduction to Abstract Art,' which invites children to explore the relationship between colours and emotions. 'Abstract Textile' workshops guide participants through a full artistic process, from initial drawing to transforming their work into textile-based compositions. 'Bag Design' covers a range of approaches to crafting personal accessories.

Arabic calligraphy enthusiasts can join workshops covering Thuluth, Naskh, Ruq'ah, Ijazah and Diwani Jali scripts, alongside sessions in decorative arts. The programme also features specialised workshops in pottery-making on the wheel.

Ahlam AlBannai, Director of Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children, highlighted the importance of the initiative, noting that it reflects Dubai Culture's focus on building sustainable environments that support early talent discovery and help shape a generation equipped with the tools of expression.  She said: 'The programme marks a meaningful step in the Authority's drive to deliver initiatives that combine learning with practical application. It gives families the opportunity to engage with a wide range of artistic experiences, with each workshop carefully designed to connect participants with the local cultural landscape. The initiative supports the cultural and creative industries in Dubai and reinforces the emirate's position as a hub for creatives.'
