Riyadh, August 04, 2026, SPA -- The Quality of Life Program Center announced that Riyadh has joined the Global Quality of Life Index (QoLI), a global initiative established through a partnership between the center and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat).

Riyadh's inclusion in the index comes as part of the continued efforts of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, Riyadh Region Municipality, and the Quality of Life Program Center to strengthen the capital's position among the world's leading cities in quality of life. It also supports the adoption of unified measurement frameworks that enable cities worldwide to assess their performance across health, well-being, the urban environment, and economic and social opportunities.

The Global Quality of Life Index is a comprehensive scientific measurement tool designed to help city decision-makers monitor progress in improving residents' quality of life through a range of quantitative and qualitative indicators covering housing, mobility, public services, green spaces, safety, and physical and mental health.

Riyadh's accession to the index reflects Saudi Arabia's commitment to adopting global best practices in urban planning and city development, while actively contributing to international efforts to build more sustainable and livable cities. The move is aligned with Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to position Riyadh among the world's most attractive cities for living, working, and investment.
