Eight out of eight. The semi-finals of the Miami Premier Padel P1 will feature the world’s top pairs: there has been no room for outsiders at the Miami Beach Convention Centre, where an unmissable weekend is about to unfold, also marked by a renewed duel between two players who have shaped the history of the sport. As in Gijón, Ari Sanchez and Paula Josemaria will face each other: Ari, alongside Andrea Ustero, defeated Bea Caldera and Carmen Goenaga 6-3 6-3, while Paula, partnering Bea Gonzalez, did the same (6-3 7-5) against Marina Guinart and Veronica Virseda. Opening the programme on the Juan y Bela court at 12:00 local time (17:00 CET) will be the No. 1 and No. 4 pairs: Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay, who advanced with a 6-0 6-3 win over Tamara Icardo and Claudia Jensen, and Claudia Fernandez and Sofia Araujo, who defeated Marta Ortega and Martina Calvo 6-2 6-1.
MEN Following their defeats in Cancún, Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan, as well as Franco Stupaczuk and Mike Yanguas, have returned to the semi-finals of the men’s draw, scheduled to begin not before 16:00. Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia (who had to work hard before defeating Fran Guerrero and Paquito Navarro 7-5 7-6) will open against Juan Lebron and Leo Augsburger, who advanced with a 6-3 7-5 win over Coki Nieto and Jon Sanz; this will be followed by ‘Chingalan’ (who yesterday defeated Javi Garcia and Javier Barahona 6-1 6-0) against Stupaczuk and Yanguas, who, after a two-hour and 19-minute match, overcame Martin Di Nenno and Momo Gonzalez.
