Dubai, UAE, 31 July 2026: The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library will host a diverse lineup of cultural events throughout August, including panel discussions, poetry evenings, art workshops, theatrical performances, and cultural exhibitions. Designed to engage all segments of society, the program brings together knowledge, arts, and creativity, reinforcing the Library's role as a leading cultural destination for readers, creators, and cultural enthusiasts.

 

The program begins with the launch of the children's two-week Summer Camp, running from 3 to 15 August. The camp offers an integrated educational and recreational experience that combines creativity, physical activity, and learning in a fun and inspiring environment. Participants will enjoy a variety of workshops and interactive activities designed to develop their skills, nurture creativity and critical thinking, refine their talents, and encourage exploration, teamwork, and self-expression.

 

The Library will also organise a dedicated educational and training camp for young people aged 9 to 15, featuring four workshops delivered over four days beginning 4 August. The program concludes on August 8 with a graduation ceremony, reflecting the Library's commitment to developing young talent and celebrating their achievements.

 

The cultural calendar will continue with a series of literary and artistic events celebrating the UAE's cultural heritage while highlighting significant national and humanitarian milestones. The first event, titled Fifty Years of Knowledge Leadership, explores the academic journey of the UAE University, its contributions to higher education and scientific research, and its role in preparing national talent. The session commemorates the university's Golden Jubilee and its inclusion in UNESCO's Programme of Commemorations for the Anniversaries of Figures and Institutions as part of the 2026 cycle.

 

In celebration of the legacy of Emirati poet Ahmed bin Sulayem Al-Falasi, the Library will host a panel discussion titled A Poetic Legacy that Preserves the Nation's Memory. The session will explore his poetic legacy and its contribution to preserving the nation's collective memory and strengthening the standing of Nabati poetry, celebrating the inclusion of his legacy in UNESCO's Programme of Commemorations for the Anniversaries of Figures and Institutions as part of the 2026 cycle, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of his passing.

 

The celebration will continue with an evening entitled In the Realm of Nabati Poetry, bringing together distinguished poets to honour Ahmed bin Sulayem Al Falasi's enduring legacy and his contributions to enriching Nabati poetry and strengthening national identity. The evening will revive the beauty and authenticity of Emirati poetic expression.

 

To mark World Humanitarian Day, the Library will present 'Art as a Humanitarian Response,' a three-day artistic experience combining an interactive workshop with a mini exhibition featuring works by artist Ahmad Al Waari. The event will explore art's ability to express empathy and solidarity through the language of hands and facial expressions. Participants will also have the opportunity to showcase their own creations in a concluding exhibition hosted by the Library.

 

As part of its commitment to developing children's skills and strengthening their connection to the Arabic language, the Library will stage the theatrical performance The Letter's Grammar Mission, in collaboration with Sandooq Al Watan. The production will take children on an engaging educational adventure in which letters and words come to life as characters, presenting Arabic grammar through an interactive blend of entertainment and learning.

 

On 21 and 22 August, the Library will host its Back to School program, bringing together leading schools and educational institutions alongside a dedicated school supplies marketplace. The program will feature workshops and interactive activities for children, as well as educational sessions for parents covering preparation for the new academic year and children's health and well-being.

 

Furthermore, the August program will conclude with celebrations for Emirati Women's Day, held this year under the theme We Emerge Stronger and Better. The Library will also host a panel discussion titled Emirati Women: Giving and Leadership in Healthcare, bringing together prominent Emirati leaders, physicians, and researchers to highlight the achievements of Emirati women in healthcare, their contributions to scientific research and medical services, and their inspiring experiences in serving the community.

 

The program will also feature an exhibition titled The Creativity of Emirati Women, showcasing a curated selection of works by Emirati women writers and creators from the Library's collections. The exhibition will celebrate their contributions to literature, thought, and culture while highlighting their vital role in enriching the UAE's cultural and intellectual landscape.
