The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library celebrated World Day for Audiovisual Heritage with an interactive artistic and cultural programme blending music and abstract art.
The event kicked off with a live accordion performance by musician Temar Al-Bunny, who captivated the audience with a deeply expressive and harmonious performance that blended classical compositions with improvisations inspired by heritage.
This was followed by a traditional Indian dance performance, in collaboration with Thirkan Folklore Dance, taking the audience on a vibrant visual journey. Through their expressive movements, the dancers conveyed a celebration of life, drawing inspiration from the Indian heritage, in a fusion of grace, rhythm, and emotion.
The programme concluded with an evening titled Colors and Harmony: A Dialogue of the Arts, presented by researcher and composer Peter Nehme, who combined live music and visual art in an interactive sensory experience exploring the relationship between music and abstract art. The performance invited the audience on a contemplative journey that transcended traditional perception.
With a large turnout, attendees expressed their appreciation for the beauty and integration of the performances. They also applauded the event’s festive spirit, and commended the library’s ability to transform heritage into a living arena for cultural and creative exchange.
This celebration comes as part of the Visual Arts and Music Programme at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library, which promotes arts as a bridge for human dialogue, and strengthens the library’s role as a leading hub for celebrating global heritage.
