Paris, June 04, 2026, SPA -- French club RC Lens have activated the purchase option for the permanent transfer of Saudi international Saud Abdulhamid, keeping him at the club until 2029 following an impressive loan spell from Italian side AS Roma.

In a statement published on its website, Lens said the move followed a strong season in which Abdulhamid helped the club win the Coupe de France and qualify for next season's UEFA Champions League. The club noted that he had been a key figure in the squad throughout the campaign.

Abdulhamid joined Lens in July 2025, bringing experience from the Saudi Pro League and his professional stint with AS Roma before establishing himself as a regular starter for the French side.

He also became the first Saudi player to feature in the French Ligue 1 and remains the only Saudi professional playing in Europe among the Saudi national team squad set to compete in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
