Abdul Khaliq R. Khalil wins coveted Achievement Award, while Orient Insurance PJSC and RSA scoop General Insurer of the Year

Dubai, UAE – October 3, 2013 The best of the global and local insurance industry were represented at the 10th Insurex Conference and Awards, as winners across 15 categories were announced at a formal gala dinner on October 2, 2013. The region's defining insurance event, organised under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance and Industry of the UAE, was attended by a comprehensive cross-section of the region's business press, as well as leading stakeholders, decision-makers and influencers in the insurance industry.

Abdul Khaliq R. Khalil was recognised for outstanding performance by being awarded the coveted Achievement Award of the Year, while Orient Insurance PJSC and RSA scooped up the prestigious General Insurer of the Year Award.

On the night, RSA and National Health Insurance Company – Daman won the most mentions as they scooped up three awards each.

Nexus Insurance Brokers won the Training Award and Personal Lines Broker of the Year. The Corporate Social Responsibility Award was given to National Health Insurance Company – Daman for its leadership in the field. RSA took home the honours for Advertising Campaign of the Year.

Other winners included National Health Insurance Company – Daman for Marketing Initiative of the Year, ZURICH for Reinsurer of the Year, National Health Insurance Company – Daman for Medical Insurer of the Year, ZURICH for Life Insurer of the Year, and Chedid Re for Reinsurance Broker of the Year.

The E-business Award was won by RSA for its innovative use of digital media, with Abu Dhabi National Takaful P.S.C. winning the Award for Takaful Operator of the Year. Clyde & Co was awarded for the Consultants and Lawyers category, honouring their contribution in the insurance sector.
