Bahrain, China, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, and Kazakhstan in the men's draw; Lebanon, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates in the women's. These are the national teams that claimed victories in their opening ties of Phase 2 of the FIP Asia Padel Cup, which began today at the Khalifa Tennis and Squash International Complex in Doha, Qatar.
 
MEN In the men's draw, Bahrain overcame a determined challenge from Indonesia in Group A, starting their campaign convincingly and taking an early lead in the race for qualification in a group that also includes Kuwait. In Group B, China defeated Thailand 3-0 to move to the top of the standings. Pakistan is the third team in the group and will make its debut on Saturday. In Group C, Saudi Arabia beat South Korea 3-0 (with Jordan having a rest day). In Group D, Kazakhstan defeated the Philippines 3-0, while in the same group Lebanon overcame Japan 2-1.
 
WOMEN In the women's draw, hosts Qatar fought hard but were defeated 3-0 by Lebanon in the Group A match, which also features Thailand. In Group B, Indonesia beat Kuwait 3-0 (with Bahrain resting). In Group C, the United Arab Emirates edged past Pakistan 2-1, while in the same group Saudi Arabia prevailed over China 2-1.
The second round of ties is scheduled for Saturday.

In the women's category, there are 14 teams: Bahrain, China, Indonesia, Kuwait, Lebanon, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, UAE, Qatar, Japan, Australia, Philippines, and Iran.
 
The initial phase runs from October 17-19, with the top teams from each group advancing to the Final 8, scheduled for October 20-24.
