Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 02 November 2026: flydubai, has announced the resumption of flights between Dubai International (DXB) and Skopje International Airport (SKP), reconnecting Dubai with the capital of North Macedonia.
The three-times-weekly service to Skopje, starting from 01 April 2027, will bring flydubai’s premium Business Class offering and full Economy Class service operations to customers in the market.
The resumption of operations to Skopje reflects flydubai’s continued focus on markets that have had few direct connections to Dubai, and on strengthening the city’s position as a global aviation hub. Skopje will once again benefit from a direct link to Dubai, while customers in Dubai and the UAE gain convenient access to one of the Balkans’ most vibrant and culturally rich destinations.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer at flydubai, said: “Connectivity is a key part of Dubai’s success as a global aviation hub. By linking markets that have limited direct air services with Dubai, At flydubai, we have always believed that connectivity unlocks opportunities for tourism, trade and cultural exchange. Over the years, we have connected many cities that previously had limited direct links to Dubai and the wider world. The return of Skopje reflects that continued commitment.”
Jeyhun Efendi, Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce at flydubai, said: “Europe continues to be an important part of our network strategy. The resumption of flights to Skopje gives our customers greater choice and flexibility, while providing an attractive one-stop travel option for leisure travellers, business travellers and the Macedonian diaspora from Australia and Asia. Our operations will commence with a three-weekly service and we are confident that demand will grow as more customers take advantage of the attractive Dubai stopover offering while connecting beyond the city.”
Under flydubai’s codeshare partnership with Emirates, customers travelling to Skopje will enjoy seamless one-stop access at Terminal 3 to hundreds of destinations across both carriers’ combined networks via Dubai, with the convenience of a single booking and through-checked baggage.
Passengers travelling from Skopje will be able to connect with Emirates to onward points in Australia; Asian gateways such as Shanghai and Singapore; and popular destinations on the flydubai network, including Bangkok, Colombo and Zanzibar.
Skopje marks the latest addition to flydubai’s growing international network, following the recent launch of flights to Bangkok in Thailand, Benghazi in Libya and Pokhara in Nepal, bringing the flydubai network to more than 120 destinations in 57 countries.
One of the Balkans' best-kept secrets, North Macedonia serves as a gateway to Europe. From the dramatic landscapes surrounding Lake Ohrid and the Šar Mountains to the vibrant café culture of Skopje and the region's rich Ottoman, Byzantine and European heritage, the country combines natural beauty, culture and value for travellers seeking new experiences beyond the traditional European capitals.
Visitors can explore the atmospheric Old Bazaar, cross the landmark Stone Bridge to Macedonia Square and discover cultural attractions including Kale Fortress and the Memorial House of Mother Teresa.
