Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 28 September 2026: Dubai Municipality is participating in Ru’ya Careers 2026, taking place from 28 to 30 September at Dubai World Trade Centre, where it is showcasing an integrated ecosystem for attracting, developing and empowering Emirati talent across specialised municipal fields.
The Municipality’s participation brings together employment opportunities, scholarship programmes, professional development initiatives and training pathways designed to equip Emirati talent with the knowledge, practical experience and capabilities required to contribute to the future of municipal work.
Dubai Municipality is presenting employment opportunities across several priority specialisations. These include inspector roles under the title “City Inspector”, as well as monitoring positions across agriculture, beaches and cleaning services.
Engineering opportunities span structural engineering, civil maintenance, architecture, electromechanical maintenance and safety engineering. The Municipality is also presenting opportunities in digital transformation, including artificial intelligence and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), as well as roles in veterinary services and laboratories.
The participation reflects Dubai Municipality’s continued efforts to strengthen Emiratisation and build a sustainable pipeline of specialised national talent. This approach extends from early exposure to municipal career pathways through scholarships, training and professional development to employment and continued career progression.
Emirati talent aligned with future aspirations
His Excellency Eng. Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, said: “Investing in Emirati talent and capabilities is a direct investment in shaping Dubai’s future. Building a sustainable, knowledge-based economy begins with empowering young people and giving them the opportunity to learn, develop and translate their knowledge into meaningful contributions.”
He added: “Our objective is to develop generations of capable and creative Emiratis who can contribute to shaping and leading the future of municipal work. Every Emirati professional who joins Dubai Municipality, whether an engineer, doctor or specialist, adds valuable expertise to our organisation.
“In return, we are committed to providing an environment where national talent can develop knowledge, build experience and progress professionally, while contributing to the continued development of Dubai and the quality of life of its community.”
Azza Al Marzooqi, Director of the Human Resources Department at Dubai Municipality, said: “We are focused on attracting Emirati talent and creating meaningful opportunities across a wide range of specialisations. Our aim is to give graduates the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge in practice, develop relevant professional experience and build clear career pathways aligned with their qualifications and ambitions.”
She added: “Ru’ya Careers gives us an important opportunity to engage directly with students, graduates and Emirati professionals, introduce them to the breadth of opportunities available at Dubai Municipality and help them identify pathways aligned with their interests and areas of expertise.”
Academic and professional pathways for national talent
Dubai Municipality’s participation will also feature scholarship and grant representatives from the American University of Sharjah, University of Sharjah and Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), enabling students and visitors to learn more about academic programmes relevant to the Municipality’s areas of work and explore potential future career pathways.
Scholarship students in technical specialisations who were appointed during 2026 will also participate at the exhibition, providing visitors with direct insight into the transition from academic study to municipal careers.
A number of Grade 10 students enrolled in the Food Safety Programme will also participate in the exhibition for two hours throughout the event, reflecting Dubai Municipality’s efforts to introduce young people to specialised career fields from an early stage.
Together, these initiatives support an integrated talent development pathway that begins with early career awareness and extends through education, scholarships, training, employment and continuous professional development. This approach strengthens the presence of Emirati talent across municipal fields and enhances their readiness to contribute to Dubai’s continued development.
