Our participation in Welcome Week reflects our commitment to engaging with young people and supporting the education sector in Kuwait as part of Burgan Bank’s social responsibility and sustainability strategy.
We strive to organize initiatives and programs that meet young people’s needs, align with their aspirations and introduce them to the YOUTH account.
Kuwait, 27 October 2026: Burgan Bank participated in Student Welcome Week activities at the American University of Kuwait (AUK) and the Australian University (AU), marking the start of the new academic year. The participation reflects the Bank’s continued commitment to supporting Kuwait’s youth and education sector, while strengthening its engagement with university students and building on its long-standing partnerships with academic institutions.
The Welcome Week activities at both universities saw strong student engagement, with Burgan Bank representatives welcoming students and offering complimentary coffee from Caribou Coffee, as well as check-ups and health guidance provided in collaboration with Kuwait Hospital. These activities aimed to create a welcoming experience and encourage students to start the academic year on a positive and healthy note.
During the events, Burgan Bank representatives engaged directly with students, introducing them to innovative banking and digital solutions designed around their needs, with a particular focus on the YOUTH account. Specially designed to suit young people’s lifestyles, the account offers a flexible and convenient banking experience that helps them manage their daily expenses, build financial awareness from an early age, support their financial independence and align with their future aspirations.
Commenting on the occasion, Hessa Hussain AlNajadah, Senior Manager – Media Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility at Burgan Bank, said: “Our participation in Welcome Week reflects our commitment to engaging directly with students at the start of the academic year. We are also proud of our long-standing partnerships with the American University of Kuwait and the Australian University, which underscore our continued focus on the education sector and building meaningful connections with young people. Simultaneously, the collaboration between Burgan Bank, the American University of Kuwait and Kuwait Hospital serves as a clear example of cooperation among institutions under the umbrella of Kuwait Projects Company (Holding) – KIPCO, leveraging their expertise and capabilities across different fields to serve students and the wider community."
Al-Najadah added: “We believe that connecting with young people and listening to their aspirations form an important part of our approach to developing initiatives and products that align with their expectations. Through the YOUTH account and our continued support for the ‘Let’s Be Aware’ (Diraya) campaign, we aim to provide young customers with banking solutions that meet their needs while strengthening their financial awareness from an early age. This forms part of the Bank’s comprehensive corporate social responsibility program and its commitment to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) standards, in alignment with the goals of Kuwait Vision 2035 to invest in youth and support sustainable development.”
As part of its broader back-to-school initiatives, Burgan Bank also organized a family-friendly event at Sky Zone in Assima Mall, bringing families together ahead of the new academic year for a fun-filled experience featuring interactive activities, competitions and cash prizes. In addition, the Bank launched its “Burgan Rewards” back-to-school campaign, offering eligible customers five times the rewards points on purchases of school supplies, clothing, and electronics made with eligible credit cards at participating stores.
Burgan Bank remains committed to supporting youth and the education sector through its partnerships with academic institutions and a diverse range of programs focused on education, skills development and financial awareness. Through these efforts, the Bank reinforces its role as an active partner in advancing the capabilities of younger generations under its “Driven by You” slogan.
